2024 Program Options

North Salem Day Camp has something for everyone ages 4+. View our options below for each age group and transportation.

Pre-K Program

 

Summer 2024: Children entering Kindergarten in Fall 2025

 

This program runs the full camp day. In order to enroll in the program, campers must be entering their last year of preschool in the upcoming school year. Campers must be 4 years old by their session start and fully potty-trained.

 

The group schedule usually consists of 2-3 active activities a day (water play, nature, games, yoga, sports, dance, music) plus 2-3 quiet activities (playtime, story time, arts and crafts, snack time, etc.) We also have many special programs that visit camp- pony rides, petting zoo, nature programs, music programs, a DJ, etc. See all activities here.

 

The Pre-K cabin is fully stocked with activities - it has toys of all kinds, books, crafts, outdoor play equipment and more! Campers eat lunch in their cabin, separate from the older campers.

 

Our PreK group will swim in the big pool a few times per week.

Day Camp Program

 

Summer 2024: Children entering Kindergarten through 7th grade in Fall 2024

 

We have a variety of programs for every age. Each group will follow a schedule that changes daily. Each day is broken into periods of about 35 minutes each. All groups are scheduled for one lunch period and one swim period every day, along with a rotation of special events and activities. See activities here.

Counselor-In-Training (CIT) Certification Program

Summer 2024: Teens entering 8th grade in Fall 2024, until the age of 15

 

Certification program runs 8:30am-3:20pm. The Counselor-in-Training Certification Program is for teens that are enthusiastic about working with children and enjoy being outside. Those interested must submit an application and be prepared to provide references. See full program details here.

 

Junior Counselors

Teens 15 years old

 

Individuals may apply to be a Junior Counselor with a camp group or with a specialty activity. Hours: 8:20am - 3:20pm. See more information on how to apply here. Individuals MUST be 15 years old by the last day of camp to be considered for the position, no exceptions. To be considered for a Junior Counselor position, applicant must have completed the Counselor in Training Certification Program.

 
Counselors & Waterfront Staff

16 years old+

 

Individuals may apply to be a Counselor (with a camp group or with a specialty activity). Hours: 8:20am - 3:20pm. See more information on how to apply here. Individuals MUST be 16 years old by the last day of camp to be considered for the position, no exceptions.

Qualified individuals may apply to be a lifeguard at the lake and pool. Hours: 9:00am - 3:00pm. See more information on how to apply here. To be a lifeguard, individuals MUST be 16 years old and hold a current lifeguard certification (with waterfront preferred). CPR must be renewed annually for camp lifeguards - CPR training will be provided by the camp for waterfront staff.
